David + Sarah
When we decided to get married, we weren't sure what exactly it would entail - just that it wouldn’t be large or traditional. Simplicity, nature, and a photographer who fit with our laid-back personalities were the elements that we felt would make the day most meaningful to us. Of course friends and family were crucial too, but we wanted to keep an intimate vibe. Our perfect day was walking to a quiet spot in the redwoods, accompanied by a few friends and family, and having a dear friend marry us. At times the road getting there was a little bumpy, as the concept of non-traditional weddings is difficult for many to grasp. It's easy to lose sight of what's important when the pressure hits, but sticking to our decision to keep it small and informal resulted in a more perfect celebration of our love than we could have ever imagined.
We feel so lucky that Carl worked with us to capture the pure, genuine and candid beauty that was our day. We initially contacted him because we loved his work, but his authentic perspective and relaxed approach sealed the deal. His go with the flow attitude, creativity and spontaneity made everything so easy and fun. Although he was glad to share what worked in past wedding experiences, Carl focused more on getting to know us and understanding what we wanted. Doing so resulted in more than just wedding photos--he created an unbelievably beautiful story about us.
If you want a photographer who will push the envelope, break wedding rules, and make some really incredible photos along the way, look no further than Carl Zoch.

Shannon and Will
We knew we wanted someone who could capture our day of love and celebration with our closest family and friends in a setting that was unique to our lives. Carl was the perfect choice. Palo Duro Canyon served as our backdrop and decorations, and he captured every beautiful moment of it - from the sun shining and setting as we exchanged vows to a thunderstorm rolling in as we poured champagne and laughed together. We felt privileged to endure the whims of nature with friends and family. Having Carl there meant much more than documenting the day for some pictures in the house. Even a year later those photos continue to tell a larger story of the love and relationships we have with everyone there. They are an ongoing part of our life together as something that we continue to reflect on, remember and share. His photos do much more than chronicle. They speak. See their wedding here.

Carl Zoch seems to bring out the best in people. He just has something woven into his being that puts everyone around him at ease. This can't be bought, learned, or photoshopped. Working with Carl was wonderfully effortless. His mantra, Enjoy Life, is infectious and he genuinely lives it! It's obvious that his passion goes beyond portraiture... He is a storyteller. This really sets him apart in the industry. Let him in on your story and you'll see him at his finest.
Kyle + Shannon
Choosing Carl as our wedding photographer was one of the best and easiest decisions we made for our wedding. Working in the industry, picking the right photographer was my highest priority as I knew I needed someone who’s style I loved and who I could trust 100% to capture the day, allowing me to relax and enjoy our wedding. For Kyle the most important thing was feeling comfortable with that person. Carl not only met this criteria, he blew it away!
For us our wedding was about bringing together our nearest and dearest for a one-night-only bash to end all bashes and Carl slid into this seamlessly. He became a member of our party, a friend at the wedding and not just a vendor. We heard from so many guests after the wedding just how awesome Carl was and if he was coming to the next party.
Carl Zoch not only gave us the most beautiful wedding images (which we never questioned would be the case), he gave us incredible memories of the process and has also become a great friend. See Kyle and Shannon's wedding here.
The Henry Family
Working with Carl has been a meaningful experience that has continued to breathe life into our family long after our shoots have taken place. He sees life in its rawest forms, in the glances, smiles, eyes, and is able to capture the connections we share as a family. Each one of us enjoy the time during the shoot, we laugh, hug and get to just be us. Amazingly enough, Carl has created some incredible images with us just being "us". Our photos from our sessions keep us smiling years later and are completely honest of who we are. After our first shoot with Carl we realized how natural he captured us and how beautiful his view point was. I saw my children looking at me with eyes I had never really "seen" in real time and was overwhelmed by all the little things Carl captured. We decide to be brave and have our next shoot done in our home, when we woke up, with messy hair, drinking coffee and eating breakfast. To have moments frozen into beautiful photographs of this time in our life is something we will always be thankful we had Carl there for. See the Henry's family photos here.
